Stop msn from updating
I open the WU console again and, surprise surprise, the “Important Update” is still there checked by default (even though I already told it I don’t want it), ready to be installed as soon as a user hits the “Install Updates” button.
There may be times when you may want to disable the auto refresh in Internet Explorer for various reasons.
You might be reading some important data when the Internet Explorer’s auto refresh setting suddenly refreshes the webpage, and you lose track of it.
But to my (second) surprise, the WU notification from the traybar does not disappear as it normally does when you decide not to install an update.
Note that you won't be warned when an update is available for one of your Adobe products after you disable the update manager.
Close all Adobe applications and then launch the Registry Editor by typing "regedit" in the Start screen and clicking the "regedit" app.
You can stop this auto-refreshing, to avoid the confusion and to stop Internet Explorer from going in for unwanted download of data – thereby saving your money and your time in relocating the data that you were looking at.
To disable Internet Explorer from automatically refreshing a web page: This should stop many websites from refreshing automatically, when they are set to auto-refresh.
